Unified data warehouse and dashboards for the delivery service Edostav
About the client
Edostav is an online delivery service for food, groceries and water. Through the app and the website, users order meals and goods from cafés, restaurants and shops in their city with round-the-clock delivery; the service operates in several cities across Russia.
The task
The data was fragmented: mobile app metrics lived in AppMetrica, the rest in internal databases. Several reports were missing — primarily customer reports — and analysis required switching between different services. The data needed to be collected into a single warehouse with one shared dashboard.
Goals
- →Combine data from AppMetrica and internal databases into a single warehouse
- →Implement the missing reports
- →Create a single space for analytics instead of several fragmented services
- →Set up regular automated data loading
What was built
- 01
Unified warehouse on ClickHouse
Setting up data loading from AppMetrica and internal MySQL databases into ClickHouse as a single analytical warehouse.
- 02
Data loading on Airflow
Organising regular data loading via Apache Airflow DAGs.
- 03
Dashboards in Metabase
Building dashboards for operational analysis, monitoring of key metrics and so on in Metabase, chosen by the client as the BI system.
- 04
Evolution and new sources
Continuing work on the dashboards and connecting additional data sources as needed.
Result
The company gained a single data warehouse and dashboards that bring together data from different systems: operational metrics and reports are now available in one place, without switching between different tools.
